On January 1, 2017 Teddy began experiencing a loss of muscle strength in his left hand. His
wife, Queenston, took him to the Emergency Room immediately fearing it was a mild stroke.
Within 24-hours Teddy was in the ICU on a ventilator, completely paralyzed and fighting for his
life. He was diagnosed with Guillain Barre Syndrome on January 2.
Eight Months later and over $2 MILLION in medical bills, Teddy is making excellent recovery.
The family has done everything they can but they need some help to get Teddy out of the Rehab
facility and back home where he can continue his road to recovery. He has regained quite a bit of
muscle strength, enabling him to speak and is off the ventilator completely.
Here are some of the things they are going to need for him to make this transition:
*Bathroom Remodel
Teddy still cannot walk and will have months of rehab in front of him. So they will need to tear
out their tub and shower and replace it with a roll-in type shower that the home health care team
can easily get him in and out.
*Rehab Equipment for the House
He will need several thousand dollars-worth of equipment so that his wife, who is a physical
therapist and other volunteer therapists, can help his rehabilitation at home.
*Transportation to and from outpatient rehab services and doctors’ appointments.
Timeframe: We need these funds right now. The work needs to be done and the home needs to be
set up before he arrives. The rehab facility is expecting he will be able to go home
mid-September.
Anything that you can give, no matter how small will be greatly appreciated.
If you are a skilled laborer and can help with demolition, plumbing, tile work, etc donations of
time and effort would go a long way to reducing the burden on this family!
