Teddy’s Emergency Life Saving Treatment
Donation protected
Hello, my name is Trevor and this is my sister Vanessa. We are kindly seeking help for our dog Teddy’s emergency veterinary bills.
Teddy is a smiley, happy, playful, bright dood who loves to spend time with our family and friends. He follows us everywhere we go and never leaves our side. He is the fluffiest most cuddly dog ever. Like many dogs, he loves treats and pets.
Yesterday evening, the day before Teddy’s 7th birthday, he was rushed into the emergency veterinary hospital after we discovered jaundice of his eyes and gums. He wasn’t acting like himself - he was refusing food, vomiting, and lethargic. The vet determined that Teddy was entering liver failure, and after laboratory tests found that he had abnormally high bilirubin values, which meant that his liver was not functioning properly. He has since been admitted for immediate intensive treatment and overnight observation where his condition will continue to be monitored. We still aren’t sure what the underlying issue is but the vet has since informed us that Teddy will have a long road ahead.
Teddy is our absolute best friend and loyal companion. We grew up with Teddy and he has been there for us through all our milestones. He is right there beside us for all our happy moments and comforted us through our sad moments. He snuggles up next to us every night for bed, greets us happily whenever we return home, and loves going for adventures with us outside. Teddy means the absolute world to us. He brings us so much happiness and companionship that is unlike anything else.
We are especially shocked and saddened by this as we were planning a big birthday party for him for August 25, inviting all his closest friends and furriends. It breaks our hearts that he is in the hospital for his birthday but we know he needs their medical care right now more than anything.
So far we have been quoted $6000 for his hospital stay which would include IV fluids and medications, radiology, extensive blood work to figure out the cause of the liver failure, urine analysis, feeding tube, overnights stay, and anything else they need to do to keep him stable.
If you have a beloved fluffy companion, you’ll know that they are not just your pet, but your family and best friend. We want to do everything we can, however, it is going to be a huge financial burden on us. We are still in our university studies and have student debt as well. If you’re able to, any donation is greatly appreciated during this emergency situation and the difficult journey ahead. Teddy and us would greatly appreciate this birthday gift for him. Thank you very much for reading this far and for your support ❤️
