Rebuilding Teddi's Life

Loving family and friends of Teddi-Joy Allinson (age 27) are devastated to share the news of the sudden fire that overtook Teddi’s residence in the early hours of Jan 8, 2021

As a result of the fire Teddi suffered 2nd and 3rd degree burns to her feet, arm and hand.

Teddi is a young hard working and dedicated mother and an active member of our society, she has dedicated her life to caring for our community through her life’s work in social work as well as child and youth studies. Teddi has been a social worker in the community for nearly 10 years now. As a Child Welfare Worker, an In-Home Family Support Worker and now the Sault Ste Marie Social Services Team. Teddi has a passion for helping others and being a positive light within our community.

Teddi understood the value of responsible investment at the early age of 21 and purchased an investment property with dreams of fixing it up and increasing the equity to one day sell and use as a down payment for their future permanent home. Teddi proved her drive and determination with the mindset to invest all of her hard earned money and time into creating her very own little nest to raise her soon to come daughter. Young Teddi responsibly focused all of her savings and time into making her nest a perfect place to raise her new baby.

Teddis cozy home was her heart and soul she did a beautiful job transforming the space into a warm and inviting environment for friends and family to enjoy, every opportunity she had Teddi invested a little more of her creativity into making the space that much more special

As a new home owner Teddi learned of the structural changes and heating requirements necessary for her home to be legally insurable. Teddi very recently reached her financial goals to make the necessary changes. The last and final step this year was for an inspector to grant her the pass on the house and than she would be secured in knowing her home was protected in the event of an emergency. Unfortunately however, this didn't happen in time before the unexpected fire occured. When the catastrophic fire left nothing to be salvaged

We are all grateful to Fredrick Allinson (Teddi’s father) for his long respected history and experience in safety training and ensuring all fire safety percussions we in working conditions at all times. Because of his training Teddi was awoken by her regularly maintained fire alarm

It is by the grace of God that Penny Allinson (Teddi’s Mother) planned to have her grand Daughter Leah (Teddi’s 5 yo daughter) over for a sleep over on the night of the fire

(Where’s the money going) $$$ living costs, property leasing, removal of debris and all items needed to rebuild what Teddi and Leah have lost in the fire. As required a percentage of the funds does go towards the go fund me website.

We appreciate the delicacy during these hard times as well as the timing for everyone, anything would help
