Harvey Relief Techur Family

Donation protected
Early this week, the Techur family gathered a few belongings as they quickly evacuated their Houston home after the water began to enter due to the rapidly rising flood waters of Hurricane Harvey. They were very lucky there was a boat in the area to come to their rescue. They watched their home and the entire neighborhood get lost in the flood, virtually losing almost everything.

As a long time friend of Nate Techur,  I want to offer him and his family assistance to restore their lives after Hurricane Harvey.  I am in Nevada and this is the only thing I can come up with to help from so far away.

Nate studied at University of Houston and works as a flight attendant. He promised that he would offer his family a better life in the US and when he finally got the chance, he purchased his first home in Houston. He moved his family from Saipan and now devastated as they no longer have a home in livable conditions.

Everything is lost-home, cars, clothes, possessions large and small, appliances and necessities. Everything is needed and it is doubtful that insurance will cover their loss due to flood - not direct hurricane wind damage. Their home is NOT located on what is categorized as a flood plane. The level of water from the hurricane has never occurred in the history of this region, or this country for that matter and it happened in only a few days. Their home took on water and needs considerable repairs and we are concerned it will be difficult for their family to afford this without assistance.

FEMA lends money at a very low interest rate and usually offers money to first locations in prime flood zones. Even if they get approved for funds, it will be a long way off and they would need to start paying contractors now.

Thankfully, the true meaning of brothers and sisters from Nate's wing family showed up to what remains of his home despite their own lives and stresses. They have done a lot of work over the past few days to remove saturated rugs, pads, baseboards, and tore down saturated dry walls. From here, they need a little help and while it pains them to have this request put out, this was a diasaster unlike anything that they have encountered.

In an effort to help, I am hopeful that you will consider a donation, big or small, so that he can start to rebuild and get their lives back on track. Your support will be incredibly appreciated as he and his family try to cope with this devastation. They will be receiving these donations and it will go directly to cover rebuilding their home.

Please feel free to share this post. We all want to do what we can to help our amazing friend and his wonderful family.
