Teamsters 776 from Navistar out on strike

In August 2020, Navistar International Inc., a dominant global corporation in the automotive industry, notified Teamsters Local Union 776 of the International Brotherhood of Teamsters they were terminating their members’ Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA) effective October 31, 2020 if a new successor contract was not in place. Meaning, the 55 members the Union represents would immediately lose health care benefits, retirement contributions, seniority, working conditions, or more simply put, they lose everything covered under the 2016 agreement.
This move backed the workers into a corner and forced them to either accept another subpar contract that raises the costs of their health insurance, kept retirement contributions stagnant, wages that would not keep up with the cost of living, and fundamentally change their working conditions, or turn it down and strike to take a stand for better wages, hours, and conditions.
On November 4th, 2020, the Union members decided to take a stand and went out on strike. They have had enough and are demanding to be treated with dignity and respect, and that starts by negotiating a fair contract that protects their families as well as their economic, health, and retirement security. These Teamster members in Manchester, PA are paid significantly lower wages then other workers in the Navistar system. They feel disrespected. We are asking for your support and donations to help keep the 55 Teamsters employed by Navistar in Manchester PA on the line 1 day longer to secure fair wages, affordable healthcare and a retirement plan for current and future teamsters who are employed by Navistar.
Any donations received will be dispersed equally between all striking members who work the strike line as required by the IBT. Thank you for all your support!
