Comunicado sobre nuestra asistencia a Blizzcon:

En nombre del comité pedimos disculpas por no haberos podido dar una explicación más transparente hasta ahora de lo que nos ha obligado a tomar la decisión de pedir ayuda económica a la comunidad.

Teníamos confirmado desde hace dos meses que los gastos del viaje de la selección estaban cubiertos al 100%. Al ver que la fecha de la Blizzcon se aproximaba y no recibíamos ningún adelanto para reservar vuelos por lo menos, empezamos a insistir y a cuestionarnos nuestras fuentes. El día 1 de octubre, al ver que los vuelos ya habían subido y estaban a punto de salirse del presupuesto, de manera urgente, conseguimos reunirnos con el patrocinador y nos informó que pese a seguir contando con el proyecto, no dispone de liquidez actualmente para ello. De haber sabido esto antes, habríamos tomado acciones desde el principio como han hecho otras selecciones.

Después de una reunión de emergencia celebrada ayer por la noche, acordamos que el patrocinador tiene una semana para conseguir esa liquidez; si no, se rompe la colaboración. Como no podemos estar de brazos cruzados esperando a algo que no tenemos asegurado, a tan solo tres semanas de la Blizzcon, hemos tenido que tomar decisiones complicadas de manera rápida.

- Desde el comité, queremos que España vaya a toda costa a jugar el mundial, porque se lo merecen más que nadie y hemos trabajado muy duro para ello. Por eso, si finalmente el patrocinador no consigue esa liquidez, hemos abierto las donaciones como un último intento desesperado para conseguir enviar, aunque sea, a los seis jugadores a competir, quedándonos el comité y el 7º jugador en España.

- Necesitamos un total de 7000€ para poder subsanar vuelos y alojamiento de los jugadores.

- Con gran dolor hemos tenido que cancelar el “evento comunitario de las camisetas” porque requiere de una inversión de un ente privado que se va a usar para intentar llegar al donation goal, teniendo en cuenta también que no nos pueden asegurar que lleguen 100% antes de que el equipo salga de viaje. (La ganadora del concurso recibirá el premio estipulado igualmente).

Durante estas dos semanas, se van a organizar diversas actividades, con los miembros de la comunidad para intentar recaudar toda la ayuda posible para llevar a los chicos a Blizzcon. Tenemos de fecha límite hasta el 20 de octubre para conseguir el objetivo.

Pedimos disculpas por la imagen que hemos dado esta última semana de inestabilidad, pero de verdad que estamos intentando hacer todo lo posible para que España tenga representación en este evento.

Statement on our assistance to Blizzcon:


On behalf of the committee we apologize for not being able to give you a more transparent explanation of what has forced us to make the decision to ask the community for financial help.

Travel expenses of Team Spain were 100% covered and confirmed. Seeing that the date of the Blizzcon was approaching and we still did not receive the money to book flights, we began questioning our sources. On October 1, flight's costs were starting to rise and were about to get out
of budget.

Urgently, we met with the sponsor and informed us that, despite backing up our project, he currently did not have the money for it. If this had been known before, we would have taken it onto our own hands from the beginning as other OWWC Teams have done.

After an emergency meeting held last knight, we agreed that the sponsor had a week to get the money to at least fly us out to LA. As we cannot stand idly waiting for something that we have not 100% closed, being just three weeks away from Blizzcon, we have had to take complicated decisions
quickly.

- From the committee, we want Spain to, at all costs, play the OWWC, because they deserve it more than anyone and we have worked very hard for it. Therefore, if finally the sponsor does not get the money, we have opened the donations as a last desperate attempt to send, at least, the six players
to compete, leaving the committee and the 7th player in Spain.

- We need a grand total of 7.000€ to fund flights and accommodation of the players.

- Unfortunately we have had to cancel the "Community T-shirt Event" because it required an investment from a private entity that will be used to try to reach the donation goal, taking into consideration that they cannot assure us that the T-shirts will arrive 100% before the team flies to LA. (The winner of the contest will still receive the stipulated prize).

During these two weeks, various activities will be organized including members of the community to try to collect all the possible help to fly the Team to Blizzcon. October 20th has been set as our deadline to achieve the goal.

We apologize for the instability image the Team has given this last week, but we are really trying to do everything in our hands so Spain has representation in this event.
