Team Siaosi - A Breath of LIFE

Anyone that has been to the Annual PIFA Festival, wouldn't miss the often shirtless, fabio grey haired, Romansque statue like, muscle looking guy, also known as Siaosi Veimau.  He is either at his Rawmana Fitness booth, challenging festival patrons to flip tires, to promote his traditional take on physical fitness or most notably, he can also be seen on stage putting on entertaining, "chicken skin" raising performances with his group, Hula Halau o Kaleo O' Nalani, that he runs with his wife Ida.

Siaosi is not just a familiar "icon" in the polynesian community, but also a business man, an entertainer, a jokestar, and a man with a much larger than life personality---oh, don't we all know this.  However, in his most genuine form, he is a husband, a loving father, friend, motivator, and a man who understands holding on to culture, but at the same time, has a vision for growth.

Just a few months ago, Siaosi was diagnosed with a rare lung disease called Cystic Fibrosis.  In just a short time, it has collapsed a lung and currently starting to disable his remaining lung.  There is no cure for Cystic Fibrosis, except a lung transplant.  Siaosi is now under constant supervision and is very limited to any acitivity, as he is very easily short winded.

We are calling out to the community, not only locally here in San Diego, but also reaching out to family and friends who have known the ever so "Full of Life" character, our brother Siaosi, to come together and to share just the "gasp" of their Breath of Life, by supporting our fundraiser.  The preliminary numbers have come in for medical costs, and as we all know, these figures will increase with ongoing treatments pre and post transplant surgery.  The fundraiser will help a lung transplant and day to day medical care that Siaosi needs for a speedy recovery.  We are in hope with our prayers, love and support, will allow Siaosi to continue to share his Breath of Life with his family, friends and the community.

Siaosi and Ida did not approve all this noise we are creating, however, as the saying goes,

"We are OHANA...NO ONE is left behind!"

Thank you and God Bless.
