Hello friends and family. I created this campaign to help raise money to fund my Dearest Friend Fight against Cancer!
On Tuesday, March 6th, Niko's Family received both shocking and concerning news about her health. They were informed that it was highly likely that cancer had returned! She was scheduled for further testing. Over the past 9 days, we prayed and cried out to the Lord for a good report.
On today, Thursday, March 15th Niko and her Family received chilling news! She was diagnosed with Metastatic Breast Cancer!!
Metastatic Breast Cancer is Stage IV breast cancer where the disease has spread beyond the breast! In Niko’s case, cancer has spread to her lungs, kidneys and pelvic bone. Unfortunately, there is no cure, and there is no stage after IV. Metastatic breast cancer can be treated. Distant metastases is the cause of nearly 90% of deaths due to breast cancer.
Niko is currently being treated at Duke Cancer Center in Durham, North Carolina.
As you can probably imagine, her sudden and untimely diagnosis presents a huge family crisis emotionally, physically and financially. Many have asked how they can help her get through this.
Over the past week, Niko's family have been researching different treatment options that would help to prolong her life. There’s anxiety and uncertainties amongst her family members. Niko is a wife and mother of two, who love's to cook, dance, decorate and mentor breast cancer survivors and teens. Niko and her family are in need of financial support from family, friends and individuals in the community.
I chose this platform to desperately ask you, to help myself and her family raise money in support of her treatments. The cancer is spreading rapidly, time is not on her side.
As most of you know Niko loves life and wants to live. She wants to be there for her husband Sheldon, and her children; Xavea and Princeton. She wants to be present in body not in spirit when Xavea graduates from high school in 2020. She wants to help her pick out her gown for prom. She wants to be there when Xavea goes off to college! She wants to continue to support her loving husband with raising the children that God blessed them with. I'm sure it hurts immensely to see the pain in her husbands eyes, he’s a military soldier that fights for our country, but doesn’t have the weapon to defeat cancer.
Your donations will be used for alternative medication, travel expenses, co-pays, etc. As we know, Niko didn’t relax after her earlier Battle with Cancer, She became a voice and advocate within and outside her local community in the campaign on cancer awareness, making personal donations to those fighting and giving back to The American Cancer Society. She spoke at events and dedicated her time hosting fundraising events. Now, we need you all like never before.
Niko's family appreciates your support, all forms of it, including sending positive thoughts, hugs, prayers, bringing meals to her home, and financial support.
Every single dollar donated, every single thought and prayer, is important and appreciated.
