Persistence: Mike needs us now

Hello Beautiful People—
Reaching out here with an update on Mike and a short but urgent plea for whatever support you can throw behind Mike right now. I didn’t think I was going to write a reflection on life’s lessons, but it’s really the best I can do to make sense of this all. Because one of the many things I have learned from Mike is to always strive to be your best self no matter what life throws your way. In a honey badger-HTFU-drink your own urine sort of way.
Mike may argue differently, but this cancer thing has been a test like no other. Because this cancer is moving faster than Mike’s body and blasts of the best treatment have been able to handle. And so he’s pushing ahead on an uphill battle because there is more living to do and more moments to share. No matter how this all plays out, Mike goes uncontested as an amazing soul. What he and his family needs now is some help in taking the edge off, to take away some of the pain and the worry. One of the most stressful parts for Mike has been all of the back and forth to Boston, the added expenses and the fatigue on he and his family—it’s a struggle. What helps a lot are all of the gestures that help them to catch their breath, get a small break, to find some space to embrace what this crazy beautiful life has thrown our way.
Mike feels the love—his family feels the love, and the degree to which they are deeply touched by it all exceeds words. Anything you can do to support Mike as he climbs onward is so appreciated.
