About Michael:

Michael Beise, youngest son of Jim and Angela Beise, was born with a rare chromosome deletion disorder called 18q-. This has led to several physical and mental handicaps. In December, he will celebrate his 20th birthday!  Michael loves spending time with his parents, siblings, and neice. His favorite thing to do is dance!  Those who know the Beise family have seen that his life has brought much joy and laughter into their lives, as well as heartache. Michael is unable to express himself verbally, meaning he cannot communicate his pain or frustration.  At times, this leads him to become physically agressive.

Over the past year, Michael's physical agression has become much more prevalant and extremely difficult to manage at home. Jim and Angela have been searching for the right next step for Michael's care. They heard about Kennedy Krieger, a neurobehavioral inpatient facility associated with John's Hopkins in Baltimore, Maryland. After a long and tedious application process, Michael was accepted. Michael will likely be a patient at the center for 4-6 months, and Jim and Angela will need to be there about 4-5 days each month while he is being treated. Insurance continues to dispute the need for this treatment, but Michael's parents and the doctors at Kennedy Krieger believe this wonderful treatment is what Michael needs now.

As you can imagine, the cost of this type of care is very expensive, even with health insurance. The travel expenses to and from Baltimore alone will add up quickly. We created this site to give those who feel led to give financially to the Beise family an easy way to do so.

We also ask that you would join us in praying for Michael, the rest of the Beise family, and his caregivers/medical staff. We will update this site with more specific prayer requests as they arise, so continue to check in here and share the site with your friends.
