Maya's journey

#TeamMaya

On January 23rd, Maya Lynn came into this world with a long road ahead. She was born with HIE, a brain dysfunction due to a lack of available oxygen, that was compromising her brain activity and other organ function, causing her to be mostly unresponsive at birth. Despite all of this against her, she prevailed, with her numbers improving daily. On January 29th, Maya's condition was deemed too severe to be supported by the equipment available at her current NICU, and she was transferred to the Boston Children's Hospital to receive the best care on the East Coast, but she still has a battle ahead of her.

Although she is little, she is fierce! She has already shown more strength than others do in a lifetime. It is because of this strength that her family has hope for her future.

It is likely that Maya will be spending a minimum of a month in the Boston Children's Hospital to get her condition to stabilize and get her on the road to recovery. This comes with a vast amount of medical expenses, as well as the cost to stay in Boston to her parents, who want nothing more than for her to recover and become the healthy baby that they hoped would enter this world.   Too often we can become consumed by the negative that we face, but the strength shown by Maya's parents in this tough time reflect only that which has been shown by Maya herself.

We ask that you please consider donating any amount you can to help cover medical expenses that her family will face. Any amount will help, and a little will go a long way.
