Thank you for reading Matt's story. Matt was diagnosed with stage 4 colon cancer on April 7th, 2017. The cancer was in his colon, bone, liver, lymph nodes and adrenal glands. He underwent chemo for 9 months which was very successful in shrinking many of these spots. This past December, scans were showing new growth which meant the remaining cancer had developed immunity to the chemo. This regime would not be able to work anymore, so Matt, Laura and their clinical team were on a mission to get Matt in a clinical trial.
Well, now Matt's journey will continue in New York where he will take part in a trial at Memorial Sloan Kettering. This looks like a great trial for him and has his family and doctors here excited. This is great news!
A difficult component to this journey is going to be the financial set back. Matt will need to travel to New York every two weeks for treatment. Insurance and the trial itself will pay for some of this treatment. Laura and Matt will have to come up with the rest as well as the cost of transportation, not to mention the monetary loss of Laura missing work.
This is where we all can help. In addition to all the prayers and support, would you please consider helping them financially? Anyone who knows Matt and Laura will know that your support will not go unnoticed and will be so deeply appreciated. Thank you all so much for the support you have already given!
