We've set up this page as a gateway for anyone who wishes to help out in any way with the pressures that come along with having a sick child in hospital for any length of time.
We have had so many requests of "how can we help and what can we do" so here is the place that any docations will go towards the up-keep of a household that is normally a well oiled ship that has been turned into a very bumpy period for the Montrose clan.
We are looking at a house keeper/fruit deliveries and meals prepared for the family whilst Kate and Stuart are busy spending time and beig with Mac at Randwick Childrens Hospital at this time.
For those of you who dont know the story;
Mackie (Macauley) at the end of Feb had an MRI of his brain and he has a tumour just above his spinal cord 4x2CM.
He had surgury with Doctor Reddy who is head of paediatric neurosurgery (who trained under Charlie Teo) at Randwick completing the procedure.
Mackie had a great day in recovery. He was alert and responding to commands of moving his arms and legs. He was trying to talk to us and his first words to Stuart were, what about food ? '.
He had a collapsed lung shortly afterwards but in true Mackie style owned the issue with his left lung fully inflating and any intervention highly unlikely. He was sleeping a lot which is great and lying on his right side which is good for his left lung.
Although now out of ICU our little champions tumour is sadly malignant which means we need to fight harder than we thought last week! Mac is now in a ward but he still needs to build up a little more strength & gain movement back in his arms and legs before starting the hurdle of further treatment.
Kate and Stuart are obviously deverstated and are hoping for a positive outcome but anything people can offer in the meantime is a blessing beyong words.
They would like to thank family and friends for your support and calls of comfort & for anyone who would like to donate to the cause i will try and update you as much as pssible as to where these funds are helping out the family.
It really is hard to believe or reconcile.
