On June 2, 2017 we took Laney in to her pediatrician's office for blood work - she was lethargic and not walking like normal. That afternoon we got a call that said take her to OU Children's right then. We rushed to the ER and a few hours later, we were told she was in complete kidney failure. She received 3 blood transfusions and was scheduled for emergency surgery that next morning to put in a hemo dialysis catheter in her neck so we could start dialysis right after surgery. Since then, she's had that original catheter in her neck removed and replaced, a kidney biopsy, an additional blood transfusion, two pd catheters placed in her belly (the first one had a revision surgery before the surgeon decided it should be removed), two emergency room visits, and also had a gtube placed for meds and feedings. All of this, just weeks after her third birthday. To say she has been through too much in such a short time is an understatement, yet she keeps a smile on her face and continues to be the sweetest thing! We just recently started her dialysis treatments at home. Prior to this she has been at the hospital three days a week. Ultimately,  our goal for Laney is to get a kidney transplant. We are looking in to live donors (hopefully either Mom or Dad are a match), as well as getting her dual listed in Oklahoma and Texas. We have already started her testing, so once that is complete she will be listed in OK and we can start live donor testing. 

The funds that are raised will be for treatments and supplies, surgery/surgeries, current meds, antirejection meds post transplant, lost wages, travel and expenses, etc.

We are also setting up a bank account in Laney's name for any donations made outside of the gofundme.
