A woman who tuly exemplifies the meaning of being a child of GOD, is my sister Jayne! Jayne is the second youngest of 7 children. She is a wife, mother, friend, confidant, "roll-dog", shopping partner, but above all she is woman of GOD.

Her life took and unexpected turn in November 2014, just days after celebrating with her family and friends at Thanksgiving dinner.  She began feeling extremely fatigued and after some convincing from our mother, she went to ER for what she thought would be a simple evaluation.  However, that was not the case! She was given a priliminary diagnosis of leukemia, and immediately transferred to a larger hosptial for further testing and treatment. Jayne had some tough decisions to make within  a matter of hours. The doctors wanted to start treatment immediately as the leukemic cells were rapidly taking over her body. The treatment would include several rounds of chemotherapy and numerous days in the hospital. This would mean my sister would have to abruptly put her life on hold.  Leaving her 5 children (ranging from age 18-3years old) and husband without their mother/wife. In addition, Jayne would have to abruptly stop working. Despite being diagnosed with a life threatening condition, suddenly being withdrawn from her family, and the loss of one income...Jayne remained optimistic.  Jayne was so optimistic that the doctors, nurses, pharmacist, patient care techs, and even the house keepers were so impressed with her positive outlook. Jayne binded and casted out all side effects, complications, and even the diagnosis of leukemia. Jayne spoke healing over her body, and rejoiced knowing that everything work out in her favor.  Jayne was able to come home on Christmas day to spend time with her children and family!  Although this was a joyous occassion Jayne still had a long road ahead. After doctors reviewed the bone marrow biopsy and genetic testing, it was recommeded that Jayne have a bone marrow transplant. Fortunately, she had 6 siblings who could possibly be a match! Praise GOD, 2 of the 6 siblings were exact matches, meeting all 10 out of 10 categories. This was very unusual considering there are not many people with 6 sublings, nor are there many african americans on the bone marrow registry.  On April 13, 2015 Jayne recieved an over abundance of bone marrow, donated by her brother (seen in picture). The new cells implanted themselves with minimal side effects. Again, Jayne's positivity spread like wild fire amongst the staff in the hospital. On April 26, 2015, Jayne sent a text to family stating " I have a praise report and it requires a 15 second praise break. The doctor said I can come home tomorrow morning, and that he has NEVER seen anybody recover so quickly from a bone marrow transplant! The doctor went on to say that it was my positive attitude and having the right mind set, but doesn't he know the JOY of the LORD is my strength. And no weapon that is formed against me shall prosper." Won't he DO IT!!!!!!

My sister is an inspiration for me to be the best person I can be everyday! She has inspired me to have a positive attitude and speak positivity in my life!  I hope her story has encouraged all of you as well!!

All money raised will go directly to my sister to allow her time to recover and support her family without the stress of finances. Although she is now home, her body is still working to take her new stem cells and make them her own! Therefore, recovery is still in process.

I thank you in advance for your gifts!
