Huey beating cancer losing insuranc

Huey was diagnosed with stage 4 lung cancer last July . Our lives were suddenly spiraling out of control. We just had a beautiful daughter at 27 weeks who was fighting for her life and now my husband was fixing to start fighting for his. The next few months were chaos. Azalea remained in NICU for 2.5 months. She is now a healthy 7 month old 15 lb baby. Huey's diagnosis was a complete shock. He had no symptoms. He was having pain in his left leg that continued to get worse. Thinking maybe he fractured his bone he went to an orthopedic dr. I'll never forget that phone call we received. Bone cancer is very rare but that's what it looks like to me. I am referring you to MD Anderson. We went expecting this to be our battle. I guess I'll never forget that phone call either. The cancer in your bone is actually lung cancer that has matastasized. You have stage 4 lung cancer, squamous cell carcinoma. After further testing we learned that the cancer has also metastasized to his brain. 12 lesions. The beginning was 10 radiation treatments to his left leg. Thankfully it worked and he was pain free again. He also had gamma knife radiation to the 12 lesions in his brain. Shortly after he began chemo. After his first follow up scan things were looking good. The main tumor in his lung had shrunk nearly in half. We continued with chemo. Eventually the side effects were getting rough. On a follow up visit we received good news. By the grace of God his PDL went from 3% to 80% so now he could receive immunotherapy. We started this treatment. Follow up scan showed the main tumor was still shrinking. At this point Huey has started having pain in his right leg. Mimicking the prior experience the pain is getting worse over time. He completes his follow up brain scan and we are told there are 9 new spots. We are going to wait and monitor the situation to give the immunotherapy time to kick in and go to work. We just completed his follow up scan and all lesions have grown and there are several new ones. Our only option is 10 treatments of whole brain radiation. He had a bone biopsy last week on his right leg. We got the results yesterday and the tumor on his femur tested positive for carcinoma. He will undergo 10 radiation treatments on his leg at the same time as his brain. Huey took short term disability in the beginning but chose to return to work in October. Through all of this he has pushed himself day after day to support us. Due to the unbearable pain from the bone tumor and the radiation treatments he will once again file for short term disability. We will regroup and march forward in this battle. His faith is strong. We know God is by his side. We know prayer is powerful. We believe in miracles because we have seen them. I struggled to get pregnant 11 years ago. With fertility treatment we were blessed with a son. Then last year we were surprised and blessed with a daughter. The odds against her our 3 lb 27 week baby fought and won the battle with God leading the way. We ask for prayers. We thank you for all the love and support we have received through this battle. We appreciate any help that you can give to help us financially during this set back. Anything helps with the building medical bills and day to day. We are strong and we will bounce back. We truly believe that Huey will be healed in the name of Jesus. He will ring that bell declaring victory And be pain and cancer free
