Sometimes bad things happen to good people.
We got news last week that no one wants to hear……. my son’s (Christian Albano) precious girlfriend, Delfien Speleers, has been diagnosed with Hodgkin’s Lymphoma cancer. Sweet Delfy – so young (21 years old), vivacious, and full of life. Our hearts are broken. Delfy and Christian met while both marching with Spirit of Atlanta Drum Corp; they have a strong attachment to this corp and its members/alumni.
Starting Monday 3/26/18, Delfien will be undergoing chemotherapy and radiation for the next 8 months. She was told by her doctors that she will not be able to work this entire time. As wonderful as her support system is at home, her parents and siblings all have to work, so Christian is hoping to visit at least twice to assist however he can. This situation is compounded by the fact that – if you don’t know already - Delfien lives in Belgium.
We are confident God will show up in a BIG way and perform miracles with Delfien's treatment and recovery.
