Hello, we are Dave & Mandy. Daniel Asher is our son, and he is the little brother to our daughter, Adalyn, who is currently 5 years old. He was born February 9, 2018, about 3 1/2 weeks earlier than expected. He is truly a gift from God!
Mandy has always had the biggest heart for children and knew she was meant to be a mommy. Adalyn’s birth was confirmation of this calling. As Adalyn has grown older, she has practically melted Dave’s heart into a pile of goo. We know we are called to grow our family, and it is evident Adalyn is called to be a big sister.
However, having children has never been easy for us. In fact, Dave was once told he essentially had only a 9% chance of conceiving a child. To pile-on to that, we have also encountered difficulty in carrying babies to term. Adalyn was our second pregnancy and first child, Daniel is actually our fifth pregnancy and second child. All of this only points to one thing: our God is a mighty and powerful god that can work miracles using any vessel.
When Daniel was born, we encountered many unforeseen complications. On March 1, 2018, God called our little Daniel Asher home to be with him in heaven, along with his 3 other angel-baby siblings already there. We are beyond blessed to have spent 20 days with Daniel on this earth, and we long for the day we are reunited with him in heaven. Daniel’s short life has not embittered us nor changed our minds about growing our family. In fact, his short visit with us has only strengthened and reaffirmed our calling.
His short life is confirmation of Dave & Mandy’s earlier desires for adoption. In this spirit, we ask that you consider partnering with us and supporting our efforts to grow our family and give Adalyn the opportunity she so desires, to be a big sister to a baby here, as well as all her angel siblings in heaven.
As we are asking for your financial support and encouragement, we feel it is important to be transparent about how these funds will be utilized. As such, we recognize all blessings are given by God, even though he may facilitate these gifts through friends & family here on earth. The Bible tells us in Malachi 3:10 “Bring the whole tithe into the storehouse, that there may be food in my house. Test me in this,” says the Lord Almighty, “and see if I will not throw open the floodgates of heaven and pour out so much blessing that there will not be room enough to store it.” With this in mind, 10% of our gifts received will be tithed back to the Lord. Additionally, Dave & Mandy recognize that adoption can sometimes be an uncertain road. In the event we encounter a circumstance which prevents a finalized adoption, we will give the remaining money received to Steven Curtis Chapman’s “Show Hope” organization. His organization supports 1. Adoption Aid, 2. Care Centers, 3. Pre- and Post-Adoption Support, and 4. Student Initiatives. Get all the info at www.showhope.org.
