Since the last 2 weeks Luke has been fighting what we thought was an upper respiratory infection.

During football practice on Thursday, August 24th, he collapsed on the field and was transported to the Cambridge Memorial Hospital. A chest x-ray revealed a mass located in his chest and a large amount of fluid surrounding his left lung. He was then transported to Children’s Hospital in Minneapolis to receive the care he needs.

After exhaustive testing and observation, he was diagnosed with Stage 3 T-Cell Lymphoma in the chest, throat, and stomach. He has already started chemotherapy.

We truly appreciate all the calls, texts, and emails. These first few weeks will be trying and challenging as we adjust our schedules and our routines, please check Luke’s Caring Bridge page for any updates and feel free to leave messages on the site.

We have a very long road ahead of us, and we are just beginning. Luke is a fighter! He will beat this!
