Medical Fund for Brooks Kingston

Donation protected
In the beginning of 2015, Cali was in Los Angeles helping her mother put on an IMTA convention. As fate would have it, she was carrying her 2-month old son Brooks Kingston around the convention when she noticed the white speck behind his right eye became more prominent then it had in the last month or so. When others started to take notice, Cali quickly called her pediatrician who then advised her to check into the emergency room at Children's Hospital of Los Angeles. After several hours she was then seen by the number one pediatric ophthalmologist in the country. He did a general eye exam and took an ultrasound of both eyes and diagnosed him with a rare fast growing cancer called Retinoblastoma.

To tell you a bit more about his cancer. His right eye had a size "d" tumor (tumors are rated from a-e e being the biggest) growing inside. His retina was completely detached therefore he had little to no vision in his eye. Cali and Jeff were given the option of chemotherapy which was only a 50% chance that the turmor would shrink and the retina would re-attach. The other option would be an enucleation of the eye, (which would remove the eye) and get rid of the cancer completely.

They didn't want to take any chances, so they decided to move forward with the eye removal.  On Tuesday, January 13th the surgeon successfully removed the eye containing the tumor.

They will travel back to LA in a few weeks so he can be fitted for a prosthetic eye. Moving forward they will be traveling back and forth to Children's Hospital of Los Angeles every 4-6 weeks. Brooks will have to go under general anesthesia for his routine eye exams where they will monitor his left eye for any tumors that may appear.

We ask for continued support and prayers for Brooks full recovery to stay cancer free.

Please help us in raising money for Brooks while he goes through these treatments for the next year. Any donation size is greatly appreciated. This money will be helping Cali and Jeff pay for Brooks' medical bills and the travel back and forth to the Children's Hospital of Los Angeles.

We plan to post updates on his progress. Thank you in advance for any prayers or contributions you are able to provide.
