Weston cole Spring, born august 8th 2018. Mid way through Constance's pregnancy we learned Weston had a multicystic dysplastic kidney, he also had low fluid, at the time we thought he had both kidneys so we tried not to worry to much. The next apt we found out he no longer had a right kidney and even lower fluid. We kept going to those monthly ultrasounds at sacred heart medical center. The closer we got to the end of her pregnancy the worse things seemed to be getting his kidney wasnt functioning and he was out of fluid. We were told numerous effects this would have, growth retardation, abnormal lung development, and of course death. Our second to last apt was by far the worst he weighed only about 2 pounds and was in the first percentile. But then at our last ultrasound he amazed all of us by doubling his weight and moving up 2 percentiles. We then set the delivery date. As soon as Weston was born he was placed on a ventilator, he took to it, started breathing and raising his heart rate. The ventilator however did puncture a hole in his lung and caused it to collapse, with time it has healed and he has moved on to a cpap machine! Weston has gotten surgery to place a g-tube and dialysis catheter, where he will begin dialysis treatments, which will aid in some ways a kidney would have. Weston will be staying in the hospital at sacred heart for 6 months to a year (let's pray not that long) until he will be able to be discharged and come home. When he is about 22-25 pounds (1-1 1/2 years old) he will be big enough for a kidney transplant. That means we will be relocating to Seattle washington or salt lake city for 3-4 months for surgery and to watch closely for a few months to follow. As everyone knows kidney transplants are not always an awenser and he may need a transplant every 10-15 years. But with that being said we know he is a strong little boy and is fighting so hard. Neither mom or dad want to be away from him, while dad is still working money will be tight, as it is for most familys with single parent Incomes. Weston's mom will be staying with him. She will be housed at the Ronald McDonald house, but with the dad working and taking care of all the bills and traveling every weekend to be with his girlfriend and Weston the price of gas and food will get really speedy. This go fund me is set up to help Weston's parents to be able to travel to and from Spokane/Seattle/ or wherever they may end up having to travel, also for food and anything they may need while Weston is in the hospital and not have to be stressed about spending their bill money while still trying to live as much of a normal life as possible.
