Team Shelli Smith

Sweet Shelli will start her battle with Neuroblastoma for the 3rd time. She was first diagnosed in 2015, and underwent surgery to remove her adrenal gland, spleen, gall blader, and one kidney. One year later, her scans revealed the cancer was back! She would then undergo 7 months of intensive chemotherapy that would leave her bedridden most of the time. Shelli was determined to get back to being a teenager and enjoying all the things that she so greatly missed. Since then Shelli has been an advocate for others that have received this terrible diagnosis. She regularly reaches out to others giving support, whether is be spending time mentoring or baking goodies to cheer them up. Shelli is a true Angel, who truly puts others before herself. She never complains and always has a sweet smile on her face. She doesn't feel sorry for herself, only finds the good in all situations and credits her strength to her relationship with her Lord.
This past February, it was time for Shelli to get her yearly scans, and after much research, her family decided to transfer her medical records to Seattle Children's Hosptial. Shelli just received the news that she will be battling Neuroblastoma once more. 
The cost will be enormous as her Mother, Joy, and Shelli will have to spend 2 months in Seattle. This will be a great financial burden on the family, and I know this wonderful Fairbanks Community would want to help.
When my Son, Justin, was diagnosed in 2014, we were overwhelmed with the amount of support that we received. We could not have done this alone, we have been truly blessed by this wonderful town!!
Please help Shelli and her family focus on beating this terrible disease, without the terrible financial stress this will most surely cause.
Shelli is a true Angel, and we are blessed to have her in our lives.
