Hello everyone,
This is Natalie Jablonski, best friend of Shannon Nagy, and Megan Good, sister to Shannon. We are reaching out on behalf of Shannon, who was recently diagnosed with Grade 3 Triple Positive Stage 1 breast cancer. While this news is devastating, Shannon is fighting it head-on — with courage, grace, and her signature sense of sarcasm that somehow makes even the hardest moments a little lighter.
For those who don’t know Shannon personally, she’s a child life specialist — someone who spends her days helping children and families navigate illness, fear, and uncertainty in the healthcare environment with compassion and care. She has an incredible gift for bringing comfort and laughter into places where it’s often needed the most. She’s walked beside and supported countless children and families during their hardest days — and now it’s our turn to walk beside and support her.
This has not only affected Shannon, but also her husband, Alex, who has been her rock through every appointment, late-night worry, and moment of hope. Together, they’re tackling this challenge with teamwork, humor, and an inspiring amount of strength.
We’re so grateful the cancer was caught early, but the reality is that treatment and recovery still bring emotional, physical, and financial stress on a newly married couple. Shannon is currently undergoing chemotherapy and will be undergoing surgery and radiation therapy in the near future. Between medical expenses, time off from work, and all the daily life expenses that don’t stop when life does, Shannon and Alex could use some extra support.
Why We’re Raising Funds
This GoFundMe will help ease their financial burden so Shannon can focus fully on healing. Funds will go toward:
• Medical treatments and expenses not covered by insurance
• Lost income during recovery and appointments
• Everyday living costs for Shannon and Alex
• Small comforts to lift their spirits and keep them smiling (because laughter may not be billable, but it’s priceless)
How You Can Help
If you’ve ever met Shannon, you know she’s one of those rare people who radiates kindness and joy — the friend who shows up, listens, and somehow makes everything feel a little easier. Now, she and Alex could use that same kindness reflected back at them.
Every donation, share, or message of encouragement helps more than words can express. Let’s surround them with the same love and light they’ve always given others and remind them they’re not in this fight alone.
Cancer picked the wrong couple to mess with — and with all of us behind them, it doesn’t stand a chance.
With love, laughter, and endless gratitude,
Natalie, Megan and Team Shannon
