In October 2018 Rikki went to have her wisdom teeth removed. At that time she mentioned to the oral surgeon that her lip had tingling. The oral surgeon did an x-ray and didn't notice anything abnormal. So he proceed to remove her wisdom teeth. While removing her lower right wisdom tooth he noticed her jaw bone was deteriorating and took biopsy and sent to the U of M. Result came back November 27th and it was diagnosed as Ewing sarcoma (bone cancer). We went to North Memorial and the Dr's. there recommended she have surgery ASAP to remove her jawbone and replace with bone taken from her leg. Surgery was then set for December 18th 2018. Moving forward Rikki has a long road ahead that will require Chemo which will begin in 6 weeks lasting 14 weeks. She will be out of school for at least a month and off work for the same time. About Rikki: She is a senior at New London Spicer. Rikki is one of the most outgoing , friendly, sympathetic people you could meet for someone of such a young age. Rikki has been in sports, been on the B honor roll. She is very active in FFA.
