Team Ria - Benefit directly to Ria

It’s the time of year again where we join our hearts and pockets together to donate towards finding a Multiple Sclerosis cure, a disease that impacts our dear friend, Maria, every day for the past 10 years.  She fights the fight every day with as much strength as she can, while keeping as positive as she can, and still continues to spread laughter and happiness to anyone in the room with her.  Unfortunately, as time has passed it became clear that Ria could not continue working full time as she physically and mentally found it harder and harder for her to do as her conditions progress. 

Because of missing so much work, she had to make the decision of applying for disability benefits to help her be able to continue to support herself.  We all know, the wait for these benefits can be extensive, and the wait is now going on 15 months for her, and counting…. Therefore, with the huge effort of helping Ria keep her house and continue her mortgage and bill payments, we have started this personal account for fundraising in lieu of the “Team Ria” fundraising efforts that we’d normally direct towards the MS Walk.  This will redirect some of those funds to directly helping Maria.  Let’s come together to try to help ease her troubles and help her pay at least a month or two, or hopefully even three months of her mortgage payment while she waits for the disability approval to kick in.  It can be any day now, or really any month now…. But risking waiting any longer without proper income is something she just can’t do without losing her home.  Please continue to donate directly to the cause and sign up for the MS Walk if you please, but please note- this effort here is specifically directed at raising funds separate from the Walk MS event, that will go directly to Maria instead.  Thank you!  And please, SHARE.
