<div>I met Michelle back in 2004 in Christchurch before we worked together in Antarctica. Since then, she’s been my BFF. Someone who radiates strength, creativity, and kindness.

<div>This fall, Michelle will release her long-awaited book, Outer Space is Closer than Antarctica, a project she has poured her heart into for years. At the same time, she is now facing one of the biggest challenges of her life: a recent breast cancer diagnosis.

<div>Michelle and Sean live together in Chico, and so many people have asked how they can help. This GoFundMe is a way to do just that - whether it’s buying them dinner, helping with gas money, easing the impact of missed work, or covering other out-of-pocket expenses.

</div>
<div>Michelle will be sharing updates on her <a href="https://michelleott.com/2025/09/05/zerooftenstars/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">website</a>, so I’ll keep this page short and sweet. Please visit her site to follow along, and if you feel moved, any contribution here will help lighten their load.

<div>Thank you for surrounding my BFF and Sean with love, hope, and encouragement.
