Mason Grey (Ferguson)

In July of 2015 Mason was diagnosed with an aggressive form of brain cancer called Medulloblastoma. Upon diagnosis Mason underwent surgery to remove a golfball sized tumor. He then underwent 6 weeks of  radiation and 7 months of chemotherapy. The treatments were successful, and the tumor cells that had moved to his spine,  were no longer present. It was an exciting time because he was now in remission. Mason was now your average boy returning to his normal life and activities. During the next year Mason would undergo several MRIs and lumbar punctures as part of follow-up treatment. This was also to make sure the cancer stayed in remission. 

On July 28, 2017 Mason, now age 14, attended a routine follow up MRI. It was discovered, with great devastation, that the cancer had returned. Not to his brain this time, however, but to the bones in his hips and legs. He immediately started radiation to shrink the tumors and to slow the progression of the cancer. The radiation was also implemented to ease the intense pain Mason was experiencing every day. Mason has now begun cancer treatment for the second time in his young life. This comes as a huge shock as Mason has been in remission following surgery, chemotherapy, and radiation.

On September 13th Mason will receive his last radiation treatment. Following this treatment the cancer team will discuss chemotherapy options moving forward. 

Mason's family is facing financial strains as they work to provide the much needed care for continued treatment. 
We are graciously asking for donations to help his family with medical expenses, travel expenses, lost wages and future expenses as they fight this fight. Every little bit helps and it will be greatly appreciated. 

Mason has a long road ahead of him but we know he will persevere. He is strong and his family lovingly supports him all the way.

Think , O God, of our friend who is ill, whom we now commend to Your compassionate regard.

Comfort him upon his sickbed, and ease his suffering. We beg for deliverance, and submit that no healing is too hard for the lord, if it be His will.

We therefore pray that You bless our friend with Your loving care, renew his strength, and heal what ails him in Your loving name.
