Team Mary Cancer Fund

Almost exactly one year ago my mother, Mary at 58 years old, courageously beat her Colon Cancer diagnosis after an aggressive stream of treatments. Her cancer then was Stage 3 and had hope but we were afraid due to the amount of tumors she had. We knew it would likely come back but she fought it bravely and beat it. Shortly after my wedding this August 2020 she began feeling ill again and went to see the doctor. They did a scan and biopsy only to discover that she has Stage 4 Colon Cancer. Unfortunately this time she has 10 tumors but it has spread from her abdomen up to her aorta. We sought out a second opinion and have been told her cancer is inoperable/incurable and chemotherapy is our only option with a focus on palliative care.  This amazing woman has not only served her community working as an employee of the Hall County Sheriff's Department for 10 years and the Grand Island Police Department for 15 years in Nebraska but has given back to so many and has never asked anything of anyone even when she probably needed it. She is the mother of a Soldier, was a LEO wife, and an amazing grandmother of 13 children. She has followed me around the country when the Army moved me, made sure she was there to support me when I became a Soldier and when I graduated from college, and recently watched me marry the love of my life. This woman is 1 sister of 10 siblings. Her whole life she has been a maternal figure, taking care of others and always putting everyone's needs above her own whether you are a blood relative or a stranger off the street needing a meal or a coat.  We are asking if you can give any amount at all to help cover costs for travel and medical support during this time it would be greatly appreciated.  If you are unable to assist please consider sharing this page so that others may be able to contribute.
