Mark's Golden Heart

Mark Geer's fight began at birth when he was diagnosed with a heart defect that wasn't allowing his body to get the blood supply it needed. Mark underwent his first heart surgery when he was very young. In 2000 Mark was diagnosed with heart failure and survival meant needing a heart transplant. Mark was blessed with a new heart and has done well for several years, living life to it's fullest. Those who know Mark know that he makes the most of each day, and always has a smile on his face no matter what obstacles he may be dealing with. It was recently discovered that Mark had an aneurysm on the branch of his aorta that needed repair. On September 26th, Mark went to surgery to have this repaired.  He was expected to be in the hospital about 4 days. Several hours after surgery, everything changed. He has had severe complications following surgery requiring several more operations and he is currently on an echmo machine to help his heart rest, he is ventilated and he is on dialysis due to these complications. Linda has been by Mark's side every step of this frightening journey.  Mark continues to fight, and all those that know Mark know that he will continue to fight. We are hoping to raise funds for Mark and Linda so they can focus on Mark's fight and his journey of healing.  Mark has a heart of gold, a faith that can get him through anything and he has touched more lives than most do in a lifetime.  His soft smile and humor can brighten anyone's day. Mark was there for our daughter and for us during her recent heart surgery and the kindness he showed to all of us will never be forgotten.  Our hopes of setting up this page is to give back so someone who has given so much to brighten the lives of those around him. We know Mark will continue to fight and any funds raised will help Mark and Linda on the journey to recovery.  Mark has a tremendous amount of people on his team and praying for him night and day. Please continue keep Mark and his family in your thoughts and prayers through this fight.
