We hope to drive half way across the world through some of the most remote and off the beaten track places to Mongolia (and back again through Russia) to raise money for charity. All we've got is
a tiny 1.2 litre car, our ridiculous sense of adventure, (some) faith in ourselves and the hope that some will help us out to reach out chairty goal.
'If nothing goes wrong...everything has gone wrong'
The Mongol Rally is an 11,000 mile car 'race' through 19 countries. It is designed for pure chaos, but also for raising money for the awesome organization "Coolearth", which works with indigenous villages to stop the rain forest destruction ( http://www.coolearth.org) where 50% of the money will go to.
The other 50% will go to
I have picked this charity because my brother Nick and I lost our father to kidney disease in March 2017 so it means a great deal to us to help better the research so less families have to suffer what we have in the future.
'60,000 people die prematurely each year because of chronic kidney disease
64,000 people are being treated for end-stage renal failure
A kidney transplant only lasts on average between 10-15 years before you need a new one
5,200 people are waiting for a kidney, yet less than 3,300 transplants are carried out each year
On average, Asian people wait 188 days longer for a transplant than White people'
Our main goal to arrive alive at the finish line with lots of money raised by awesome people in support of the Coolearth/kidneyresearchUK charities! So, please dig deep and support us :)
Even £5 will help!
With your help, we can make the world a better place!
