Team Leslie Fights Myeloma

Donation protected
At the young age of 22, Leslie received the devastating news that everyone hopes they will never hear: you have cancer. Her diagnosis was shocking to Leslie as well her doctors as multiple myeloma is a very rare diagnosis in someone of her age. So at the age of 22, she began her first and difficult journey to remission. Four years later, once again she received the devastating news—her cancer has returned. And so began another rough road to recovery filled with months of chemotherapy, surgeries, close calls, pain, heartache, and a second bone marrow transplant. Already Leslie has experienced more in her short life than anyone should have to go thru. All the while, no matter the news, I have never seen anyone handle such life altering news with such grace, faith, and courage. Leslie is one of the most amazing and admirable women I know! She is like a ray of sunshine, illuminating the entire room with her kind smile and loving spirit. In 2017, Leslie learned that she relapsed again. Since then there have been numerous doctor visits, new expensive medicines, weekly lab work and infusions and a variety of tests and procedures. This week her treatment plan changed as we learned that her numbers have drastically increased. From this increase, she has experienced a lot of pain and also some serious effects to her kidneys. She was transported to Cleveland clinic where she is undergoing more chemotherapy and plasmapheresis to improve her kidney function. All of this is leaving a wake of medical expenses and bills that keep piling up. On top of this, lately she has been unable to work. Leslie would never ask on her own, but as her friend, I am asking for her. She needs our help. And although there’s not much that we can physically do to change her circumstances, we can work together to lighten the burden of her medical expenses that she currently has and will continue to increase by the day. So we are asking that if you feel led, to please donate to her fund. All donations, whether big or small, are greatly appreciated!!!
