As some of you are aware, Matt’s mother, Diane, has been battling a rare breast cancer for over a year now and was relatively close to being done with her treatments when doctors discovered her cancer had spread to her brain in the form of two brain tumors. On Wednesday, September 6, 2017, Diane underwent surgery to remove the larger of the two tumors with hopes to eliminate the other one through radiation.
This journey has been nothing short of a roller coaster ride and as a friend who has grown closer to Matt over the years through coaching, hanging out and just being able to vent to one another about life problems, I know this has taken its toll on his family. Matt can be a little stubborn at times in asking for help and from stories I’ve heard from him over the years, it seems to be a LaCroix trait. However, with a little convincing we have received his families blessing in asking for support during these tough times.
Matt and his two other siblings Kalli and Dave, have all decided to move back home to be by Diane’s side, ensure she receives the best treatment, help out with things around the house and pick up the loose ends on bills. With the overwhelming amount of appointments/treatments scheduled, this family will be looking for ways to make Diane’s process as easy and comfortable as possible while still making ends meet. We hope that with a little financial support, this will allow the family to be able to travel back and forth to appointments and stay over at needed locations without having to worry about the extra expenses. We ask that you help share this cause and continue to keep Diane and the LaCroix family in your prayers as they face their next battle.
