After much prayer and prompting by Holy Spirit in the fall of 2018, I decided to take an active part in funding and operating the TEAM HEROES Children's Home in Kitale, Kenya. I've known about this home for seven years, but in 2018 I became fully aware of its operational needs. God has called me to help GROW this work! And as with most mission outreaches, I need help so I can help!

Team Heroes is home to 30 children. Many have been rescued from Kitale's streets or environments of abuse. There is capacity for 30-40 more kids, but funds are needed to bring them in. In Kitale there is a crisis of homeless children on the streets being lost to crime, prostitution, drug addiction, disease, and starvation. At Team Heroes kids are loved and accepted. They are safe and fed and clean. But most importantly, they are learning the Word of Truth, experiencing the hope and peace that Jesus gives! Hearts are healed and lives are transformed. It's an exciting work.

This GoFundMe is an initial fundraiser to help with urgently-needed basic necessities such as food, wash basins, chairs, beds, school-related needs, and some facility improvements.

Needs are considerable. $40.00 per month provides adequate support for one child's food, hygiene & medical needs, and clothing. Additional funds are needed for facility improvements, school-related costs, and emergencies.

This GoFundMe serves to raise immediate funds for urgent facility needs of the home while we establish the non-profit organization and gain monthly support. In November 2019, Mwangaza House International was born as a non-profit organization. The mission of Mwangaza House is to strengthen impoverished communities for the sake of the Gospel of Jesus. Starting with Team Heroes and extending out to pastors and churches in the surrounding area; and into other communities even outside of Kenya.

I hope to be in Kitale, Kenya long-term at some point in time; but for now, I will seek to help meet the needs from the U.S., with a goal of hosting teams 1-2 times yearly until I can be there year-round.

I'll be sending out personal notes and phone calls to ask friends to consider helping me grow this work in a healthy way. I plan to initiate more fundraising efforts in support of the HEROES who have found their Loving Father because of what Jesus did for them.
