Team Dania!

In October 2020, Dania started having symptoms that couldn’t be irradicated. She was losing hair, incredibly itchy to the point of drawing blood, creating bruises, and the inability to do major tasks. She even had to wear shoes to bed to protect her feet from nighttime itching.

She saw many doctors and each tried something new to find the cause of the symptoms. Each doctor had a new “cure”, including thousands of dollars of experimental shots. None worked. Eventually, the symptoms became so severe Dania had to stop driving, had to quit her job, and became house ridden with a caretaker with her at all times.

After a year of misery, tests, and doctor after doctor -- on Halloween weekend 2021, she was taken to urgent care, and there they found masses in her throat and chest. A few weeks later she was diagnosed with Stage 2 Hodgkins Lymphoma. Cancer. Ironically by the same doctor who in January of the same year told her it wasn’t her blood causing the symptoms, oh how wrong he was.

We are all grateful for answers, of course, but having cancer isn’t only a physical battle, but a financial one as well. Due to having to quit her job she lost her health insurance and had to join the Cobra medical coverage network. Because of this, and because it is now a new year, there are TWO high deductibles. As you can imagine, even one week of cancer patients’ life is incredibly expensive between the doctor's visits, chemo, pet scans, fluids, and now, unfortunately, Dania has contracted Covid.

She is quite sick and had to have the monoclonal antibody treatment, but has still landed in the ER. Even an ER visit for an otherwise healthy person is expensive, but one that requires so much intervention including a hospital stay will be more so.

Of course, her loving husband, Zach, works for an electrical company, but unfortunately due to the severity of her illness, they need help. Cancer is much too big of a burden for them to bear alone.

This GoFundMe will go directly to her medical bills and household costs, ensuring that the only thing she and her loving and hardworking husband have to worry about is kicking Cancer’s butt.
