Damon was a very active and happy 2yr old little boy… always laughing, dancing, and playing. But instead of being able to enjoy all that, my son has had to endure so much more pain and tears than any child should ever have to because on March 7th he was diagnosed with Grade 4 Metastatic Medulloblastoma. A very aggressive brain tumor directly above his cerebellum which had already spread to other parts of his brain and also had spread down to his spine. My 2yr old lil warrior was given a 25% chance of survival. That's when our world as we knew it had stop spinning. We were immediately sent to Valley Children's hospital in Madera where he underwent a 12hour brain surgery to remove the tumor above his cerebellum. Still leaving behind the other ones in his brain and the ones in his spine. He spent a month in ICU recovering. He had to learn all basic skills all over again. Talk, walk, eat, sit, even had to learn how to swallow again. In April we were then transported to UCSF children's hospital where he began chemotherapy in hopes of destroying the remaining tumors. We are currently in San Francisco and he is on his 6th round of chemo and because his body cannot handle any more of the chemo this will be his final round. During his 5th cycle we almost lost him. The Doctors did all they could to save him after his little lungs began to fail. He was intubated and taken into ICU. Yet again Damon had amazed everyone and he made it through that very frightening and traumatic episode. However, soon afterwards we got the heartbreaking troubling news that the cancer has again spread but this time to his spinal fluid. Damon's only chance of surviving now is radiation. Being that he is only 3yrs old, radiation can cause him to suffer from permanent brain damage. The radiation that he needs is only offered in a few locations. Which means having to travel again. As you all can imagine the expenses build up. Medical expenses, transportation, lodging, food, basic living necessities, are very difficult to handle at this point. I have to sell what little belongings I have left so that I can be able to take my son to either Boston Children's Hospital in Boston, Massachusetts or to Rady Childrens Hospital in San Diego so that my baby can continue his fight against cancer and get the treatment he needs to fight and survive this horrible disease. So off we go to fight our last battle in hopes of a great outcome. Thank you all for the amazing support everyone has given us in this difficult time. Please continue to pray for my little warrior. All donations are greatly appreciated. An account has also been set up through ESPEECO FCU bank under JUAN NORIEGA for anyone who is willing to help and are not able to do it through the "Go FundMe Account" Any questions please contact Juan Noriega or Wendy Noriega
