Team Canada-International Jr Beekeeper Competition

In July 2019, three members of the Kawartha Junior Beekeepers will be traveling to Banska Bystrica, Slovakia to represent Canada at the 10th annual International Meeting of Young Beekeepers (IMYB). This will be the first time that any group from the Americas has attended this event.
Our team of young beekeepers--Bryn, Tate, and Kaleb—along with participants from other countries, will be sharing their ideas and testing their knowledge. Young beekeepers from 34 countries are registered to participate.
As one of the mentors for the Kawartha Junior Beekeepers’ program, I am confident that this is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for these young beekeepers to represent their country at an international event.
Funds raised will be used for travel costs to/from Banska Bystrica, Slovakia for our team and two chaperones, including airfare and land transport costs, plus the IMYB Team Registration fees. Funds will be deposited into the Kawartha Junior Beekeepers’ bank account and then divided among the travellers to offset these travel and registration costs.
