My sister Deb battled a deadly disease called Lupus. You wouldnt know talking to her but she was very sick most the time. She died at 54 years old. She was the greatest warrior I have ever known.
Emily, Shawn and I started curling last year in the Lupus Bonspiel to honor her Warrior spirit. We were the largest fund raising team.
Last year this event raised $ 50,000 for lupus research, the money goes directly to the Mayo clinic and its research. Cool thing is they say they can cure Lupus in 10 years, what an awesome thought that my kids will never have to go through what Deb did.
