Teaching teachers in Laos
Donation protected
Hi family and friends!
I’m off to Vientiane & Luang Prabang in January 2019!
I’ve been a primary teacher in NSW for over twenty years, and very excitedly, I will volunteering in the school holidays to work with teachers in Laos.
Access to education in Laos is improving rapidly but the adult literacy rate is only 58% and only 60% of students complete lower secondary.
Working with LRTT (Limited Resources Teacher Training) Laos Ministry for Education and the British Embassy, I will be part of a team working with two teacher training colleges and their surrounding schools to plan training that supports the government’s goals, including a focus on 21st-century learning and English proficiency.
During my time there I will share my teaching knowledge by leading workshop sessions for Laotian teachers and visiting their schools to coach them through improvements to their teaching. This innovative program aims to support Laos Ministry for Education in increasing access to quality education for all.
It is important to me that you know exactly where your thoughtful donations will go:
Programme costs $2266
(Accommodation
& meals)
Airfares-
Sydney to Laos $1686
Total $3952
Thank you so much for your support- please head to this website to know more about the programme
