Teaching English to Young Nepalese Orphans

In July 2019 I will be volunteering to help young orphans in a remote mountain temple learn English, along with dancing, singing and playing games. To raise money for the volunteering, I will be running the Plymouth Half Marathon on the 19th of May 2019!
Orphans in this monastery will have had lives filled with tragedy. Babita Beswkarma was seven when her parents died of AIDS. Left in the care of her uncle, she was made to work as a slave, without rights or property. Babita's story is all too common - in Nepal starvation is rife, home sanitation and running water are incredibly scarce, and this year, around 10,000 adults living with HIV/ AIDS are expected to die.
For these two week, my goal is to help these children with their English and to have fun as well as learning lots about their culture and life! The funds raised will allow the temple to get new resources for the children, go towards the project training and flight costs.
The deadline to submit the money raised is late May, just after I will have completed my first ever half marathon! I would be really grateful for any donation, big or small, any donation we make may seem like nothing to us - but would mean the world to those orphans. The kindness of my friends and family already has been really lovely and I am so thankful to everyone who has shown their support. In the future I am really keen to be involved in international aid and disaster relief so this for me is a great opportunity to have some experience volunteering abroad!
