Teacher out of sick days needs help

Sandy is the broadcasting teacher at a Northwest Arkansas High School and is very dedicated to her students and her job.  Unfortunately, Sandy also suffers from multiple sclerosis (or MS) and has had a very rough year.  Sandy broke her leg on Christmas Eve when she fell on her icy deck.  Once at school on a crutch scooter, she hit a rock and fell again.  Right before spring break, Sandy had to have surgery. The medical costs and pain caused stress which likely contributed to her latest MS flare-up.

This is from Sandy's Facebook page: "Well here I am again in the throes of a massive MS flare-up. This one is one of the worst ones I've had. I cannot walk. I was using a wheelchair earlier this week and was able to go work in the wheelchair. But I had a setback Wednesday night. I can't even sit up, stand, anything. Plus double vision. I am being pulled hard like a magnet to the left. The worst part is I'm out of sick days. I need prayers, vibes, encouragement. Rick Demby is my rock. He's taking care of me, Cyrus, the house and his job. MS sucks and I need this flare-up to go away! Sorry for this rant."

Sandy participated in the "sick-leave bank" at her school district.  For this program, teachers must donate a sick day to the bank to be eligible.  Teachers may then request more sick days from the bank in the event of a catastrophic illness.  The sick-leave bank committee has denied both her application and her appeal because it did not meet the definition of catastrophic.

From Sandy's Facebook page: "I'm so stressed about my next paycheck. And stress adds to MS. That's why I joined the sick leave bank 19 years ago. In case something like this happened."

Because Sandy is now out of sick days, her pay will be docked for every day she misses.  Please help Sandy cover her medical and household expenses as she tries to recover from this latest flare-up of MS!
