Hello my friends, my family. Those of you who know me best know I am not usually the one to ask for help. I have always prided myself on being the one others come to for a helping hand. The truth of the matter is, I have Cancer. I was diagnosed with Stage II Papillary Thyroid Cancer on March 7, 2018. If you have had or have known anyone with cancer will understand the roller coaster ride inside the mind. I have no doubt that I will see victory in this battle. I will meet this like I do everything else in life, head on... it does however scare the crap out of me from time to time. I appreciate everyone's support and continued support in the weeks and months to come.
Everyone has asked if there is any way to help. And there is a way. In the long haul, my out of pocket costs will be over $5000 and a bucket or two of stress, due to the urgency. First, there will be surgery to remove my thyroid and a bit of the lymph nodes with a hospital stay of 2 to 3 days. Then a 2 week recovery at home followed by a quarantine of 4 to 5 days, due to the radiation iodine pill. All this followed by doctor visits to get my daily medication levels correct and annual scans for cancer.
This financial burden plus of my moderate student loan debt is a bit hefty. Any assistance will be greatly appreciated as is your continued love and support.
