Hello Parents, Alumni, and Parents of Alumni,
Your student's club dues cover the the entry fees to the competitions, and Zim works tirelessly to raise funding through sponsorships and the FLL tournaments. But you may not realize we also need to purchase a lot of hardware throughout the year: from high-tech motor controllers and sensors to components like wheels and pistons to the aluminum and lexan we machine into the robots to the nuts and bolts that hold everything together. Also remember that some of these robots are participating in a full-contact sport! We often have to replace motors, gearboxes, and wheels mid-season as well.
If you can donate $20, $50, $100 - it all helps and would go a long way towards replenishing our inventory and making this year's robots. We always try to build multiple robots, so more students can get experience with their hands on the hardware.
I always keep a tally of what Zim and the team purchase with your donations on our inventory site (email me for the link if you'd like it), so you can see for yourself what you have helped to buy. I have the full list of what was purchased with the 2018 GoFundMe available (it's a long list!) so you can rest assured that we put your donations to good use. You can also give checks directly to the club through Zim - whatever works best for you.
