On behalf of the family of Lori Pobihushchy and my friend Adele Kupp, I have created this page for them. The family is in dire need of financial support as well as your thoughts and healing prayers for Lori.
On Monday September 17th, Lori was taken to the hospital in Massett, then was air ambulanced to Prince Rupert. Once there, she was assessed and sent to Kelowna to see a neurologist.
Within days, Lori was diagnosed with lesions on her brain and a tumour; she will be operated on this week.
Lori lives in Port Clements, Haida Gwaii along with her partner Sean and near her son Gilbert, Adele and their mom Sally. Lori’s daughter Chrissy lives near Winnipeg and has now joined her mom.
For the first few days, Lori was in Kelowna with no family near her, all by herself and without a cell phone so it was difficult for family to find out her condition. Who would have thought a trip to the hospital would have turned out to be this devastating for Lori and all her family.
As family make their way to Lori, the financial costs of hotels, food and transportation will take its toll at a time when they need their strength.
Sally, their mother and grandmother, is unable to travel and unaware of Lori’s situation as she has had dementia for a number of years. Her care will also be worrisome for Adele as she has to find someone to help her mom while she flies to be with Lori in Kelowna.
Lori will be undergoing surgery this coming week on the brain tumour and it may be a while before people are able to return home.
Please, if you are able to, donate some $$$ to help all of the family members through this MOST difficult time and please, say some prayers of strength and healing to all the family as they make their way to be by Lori’s side.
