Build Up TCDG's Space to Skate

Friends, Alumni, and Supporters of Roller Derby--
The Twin City Derby Girls have searched for a local space to call our own since day one. Desiring more than limited rental hours at the local rink, our league has combed the Chambana area for a suitable, yet affordable, space to skate. We've made countless inquiries, explanations, and negotiations to best fulfill our mission:
To promote roller derby in the Champaign-Urbana (IL) community by fostering athleticism, empowerment. and sportsmanship among all of our members and supporters, especially women and girls, while benefiting local non-profit organizations through our charitable donations and service.
And FINALLY, a space has been found! In the heart of Champaign, even. But there's one catch:
We have to fill an Olympic-sized pool.
That's right. We need to build a structure within a former pool that will safely support a floor. Then install a floor over this structure for our track. The cost of materials alone for this project is an estimated $20,000.
Wait! Did we lose you?! We have a plan--an architect's plans, in fact. We have a signed lease! And city-approved building permits. And some lumber. We can do this!
But we need your help.
We have an amazing opportunity to repurpose a facility that has begged for reinvention. It'll be a unique indoor venue for sports and entertainment in our micro-urban community.

To make this a reality, we need your support. Every dollar counts! All donors will receive a special thank-you on our Facebook page and website. Donations of $50+ will receive two complimentary tickets to our home-opener bout on March 5, 2016. Donations of $100+ will receive four bout tickets + a TCDG t-shirt. Donations of $300+ will receive four bout tickets + a TCDG t-shirt + their name engraved on a dedication plaque. This goes without mention, but donors also get our eternal gratefulness!
