TCA Speech Team Transportation/fees

My name is Lisa McCarston and I am the head speech coach at Twin Cities Academy in St. Paul, MN. My school has previously had a very tiny team of 10 or under students and has never needed transportation before. This year A LOT of students have shown interest and I am so excited for them to join and want it to be easy for them to say yes and have the opportunity to join speech (forensics) team! Unfortunately, not all students who are interested can pay the activity fee that covers bussing and entry fees. 

Speech (forensics) team is the single most important extracurricular activity I participted in during high school.  Speech is an amazing way for students to learn about committing to a long term project and continually going back and working on/improving/revising their work. It allows students to practice responding to constructive criticism and being rated/judged regularly. Students also learn how to interact professionally with students and adults from around the state (and possibly country if they make it to Nationals, which has been done by TCA Alumni) and practice networking skills. If a student is afraid of speaking in front of others, Speech is one of the best ways to overcome that fear! Speech team has proven to be the activity that I can consistently look back on and attribute most of my adult, career success to. On top of that, I had a really enjoyable time and made life-long friends on the team.

Please help our team grow so that more of my students can participate in this amazing activity.

I am raising money to pay for additional entry fees for more students and to cover the bus costs so we can add more meets to our schedule this year. Also your donations would cover the cost of the activity fee at our school to get the minimum amount of bussing which is $185 for students who can't afford the cost.

The fees are due by December 15th so we can solidify our schedule of meets and busses. Anything you can donate is very much appreciated. I will be eternally grateful.
