A few friends and I are raising money on behalf of our dear friend, Dustin Burton. For those of you who don't know Dustin personally, he is a passionate musician who has utilized his talents to march with independent ensembles such as Forza East Independent Percussion, Jersey Surf Drum and Bugle Corps, and most recently, George Mason University Indoor Drumline. Those who do know Dustin know him as a goofy guy with a heart of gold who would do absolutely anything to make someone smile. His passion for the marching arts doesn't stop on the field or floor. He is passionate in how he cares for others and how he approaches life in general.
A day after he returned from competing in WGI Championships in Dayton, Ohio, he learned that he has lymphatic cancer. We were devastated to find out about our friend's disease, especially because he will not be able to march his age-out season of drum corps.
Today, Dustin starts his first cycle of chemotherapy. He will be on chemo cycles for at least 4 months. While he maintains his typical positive outlook on life, he will need as much financial help as he can get, as he will be out of work while he undergoes his series of aggressive treatments, and even as he is recovering post-chemotherapy. Dustin did not initiate this donation page as he would never want to impose on anyone. However, as his friends we are trying to cobble together donations that would help our friend out in any way.
Let's help Dustin out. No amount is too small, and every donation goes a long way in alleviating the financial burdens that he and his family will face. In addition, please keep Dustin in your thoughts and prayers, and feel free to share this page.
