Books on Wheels!

The last two years have seen an explosion of appearances for the Carolina Manga Library.  We attended over 40 events in 2018 and 2019, and still have a few more to go this year.  In all we have traveled to over a dozen states and have driven over half a million miles to bring our Library to the people!  

This has put a lot of strain on our beloved trailer.  Purchased used in 2015, our trailer has been lovingly repaired and maintained by the family of our Head Librarian and gone through many burst tires.   As we cram it full to attend every single event that asks us, the poor trailer has weathered all the miles admirably.  It is often considered overweight for the load, and we still haven't been able to bring our entire collection because of the weight.  Books are HEAVY.

Now, however, something more alarming has happened.  The axle on our trailer has warped and is close to cracking.  We can keep going for a few more shows, possibly until the end of this year, but the sad fact is that "she can't take much more, Cap'n".  The time has come to retire our darling trailer.  

As such, in order to keep attending shows in 2020, a new trailer MUST be purchased.  And what better time to fundraise than in October, the birth month of our beloved Head Librarian?  The funds raised from this GoFundMe will go directly towards the purchase of a new double-axle, 15ft trailer.  Anything raised above that will go to wrapping the new trailer with our new artwork for a fresh look for 2020!
