In need of an Handicapable van

My name is Mikaela Arnold. I am a 21 year old spastic quadriplegic with cerebral palsy. Recently, I had scoliosis surgery to correct my 75% curvature of my back. As a result of the surgery, I grew three inches  which hindered me from fitting into my current van. Since the surgery, I have gone back to school. The problem is that I have to rely on either my mom or the bus to take me to and from school. The van we have now is 16 years old. With those 16 years comes a slow decline of its parts. The last year has been filled with repair after repair. I end up paying 500 dollars nearly every month to repair a part. The newest broken part was the A/C. With the Florida heat it is toxic to go anywhere without air.

Most of time I take the bus, sometimes it comes late or comes too early within the schedule time. When they are late I end up being late to my college classes; if they are early I end up having to leave class early or miss the bus. The situation with the bus is unpredictable plus sitting at the back of the bus, I tend to get bump around which is painful, thus cannot be relied on 100%.

I am creating this gofundme page in order to put a down payment on a new van with the ability to convert to a handicapped van. I would love to be able to drive myself to school or to a job. I cannot do this with the current van. Also, the current van is about to reach retirement mode. As a college student, I cannot afford the continuous repairs the current van calls for. Update...engine blew...van is dead.
