GIVING SOMETHING BACK

Hi all

I would like to share with you the passion I and those that are part of Athlone Boat Club have for this historic club that sits on the banks of  the river Shannon here in the centre of Athlone town. While reading this , I am hoping to engage you into supporting my fundraising efforts for this outstanding club in the challenge I am about to take on.

Founded in 1837, our club is steeped in history and holds a long successful tradition of teaching rowing to youths and adults within our
community. Success has been achieved many times over the years , most recently with two of our junior boys representing Ireland at the
junior world championships in Bulgaria.

Our Club is very near completion and when done, will offer state of the art facilities to members, both existing and new, to continue with
adding to its history of teaching those from our community who wants to row, the skill of rowing and again have members representing us on the world stage.

It is for this very reason that I am doing this fundraiser swim which will help me to give back to our club something that will help them to
share the experience which I have had to those within the community. We are very much still short on funds to complete our project and I
ask that you please help me to help Athlone Boat Club with seeing this project through.

My challenge is to swim a NON-WETSUIT swim from the Wineport Lodge by Glasson Village down through the lake to coosan point
and onward out to the main lake of Lough Ree and down River to Athlone Boat Club located 500 yards from the town bridge. As the crow
fly's, this is a 10k journey but based on my sight lines , I am sure it might add a few more to the journey.

I am planning or rather hoping to do this swim between the 1st week to 3rd week in September and I ask that you would again please
support my efforts for our club and our members in achieving the target I have set of €1000..
