Taylor Wild (Sarah's Covenant Homes)

In two days I will be in America.

My first attempt to write this post occurred many days ago & right around then the words that were supposed to be typed out in neat little rows rioted & fled, probably jumping ship out of my ear drums or nostrils.

So here’s to another attempt.

After a somewhat unknown amount of time back home (depends on fundraising), I will be returning to India to the ten little humans I have come to know & so, so dearly love.

For now though, I am attempting to saturate my memories with the sweetness I know I will be missing from thousands of miles away - bellyaching giggles, small squeezes of little fingers on my own, sweet & unexpected kisses on the cheek, the squeals of laughter that come from running wildly free. This sweetness found in everyday moments of connection & trust & love, brings reassurance of life here. Of the call placed deeply in my chest & my brain & my soul to be with these boys through every known & unknown.

Through the deepest of sorrow and the most joyful of blessings, He calls me to be here. He stretches me, and leads me to Him, and the blessings of my life are the cord and the tether that keeps me close and give me the truest confirmation of His goodness and His plan and His love and His patient and transformative work here in India and in my heart and soul.

So when the words fall out of my head & out of my butt, and when steps forward feel like they’re on shaky ground, and plans are hazy, these simple reminders and gentle nudges and honest whispers bear the marks of His hands, His fingertips, His love, that securely fasten me to His heart.

So, as I step away for a while, his faithfulness washes over me. And the sweetness that saturates my mind and memories gives me words again & steadies my steps.

So here are some words that I found--I need your help, your prayers, your support, your kindness. Coming back to India is easy and hard all at once. It’s easy to say yes, but hard to see a way. I need full support to come back to the wildest & sweetest boys--to Aaron, Jeriah, Nicky, Sam, Zeke, Keaton, Jeff, Daylan, Isaiah, & Barnabas.

Thank you for your continued love and support and prayers!
